At one of the units, the delegation from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine got acquainted with the tasks of the border agency and the assistance that the State Border Guard Service has received within the framework of their collaborative projects.

Serhii Deineko expressed his sincere appreciation to Antony Blinken for the opportunity to personally visit the border guards and for the unwavering support extended to the people of Ukraine. He highlighted the strong partnership with the U.S. Department of State and various U.S. institutions, emphasizing that they are currently engaged in nine international technical assistance projects.

"I'm delighted that we can work together to save lives despite the challenges posed by russian aggression. Our assistance isn't just for the immediate fight against russian incursions; it's also aimed at helping you build a resilient defense force for the future," remarked Antony Blinken.

He added that the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Embassy's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) have been steadfast partners of Ukraine for two decades and are truly impressed by the dedication, resilience, and bravery of Ukrainian border guards.

Serhii Deineko emphasized, "If it weren't for the assistance of our international partners, especially INL, our losses would have been significantly higher. Thanks to our partners, our border guards received timely supplies of body armor, protective helmets, and more."

During the visit, the U.S. Secretary of State had the opportunity to see the equipment that had been provided to the border guards, equipment that had often proved instrumental in saving the lives of Ukrainian defenders. While inspecting the medical supplies, Antony Blinken stressed the critical importance of timely medical aid, pointing out that State Department personnel also undergo similar training to provide initial medical assistance.

The delegation also had a chance to observe various weaponry, equipment, night vision devices, and UAV complexes that are actively used by the border guards in their operations. They were shown fragments of downed enemy drones and rockets, as well as trophies seized from the adversary.

"Border guards are on the frontlines across all battlefronts. Together with our fellow Ukrainian defenders, we are reclaiming our territory, defeating the enemy, and moving closer to our shared victory. Rest assured, we will prevail, thanks in no small part to your support," emphasized the Head of the State Border Guard Service.

Antony Blinken commended the effective utilization and application of assistance by Ukrainian border guards from the United States. He even took the wheel of the Roshel Senator MRAP armored vehicle, which had been delivered to units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as part of aid projects.
